Web Site Design

When you are ready to have a website designed, do a little "surfing" on the internet.  Check out other web sites that sell products similar to yours.  It is extremely helpful if you have a basic idea of what type and style of web page you like.  When you find a site(s) that appeal to you, bookmark them so they can be referenced later.

When checking out your competitors websites think about the look they are presenting to the public and what you want to present.  Eye appeal is important in web design.  You may select pages with dark backgrounds or light backgrounds, but remember, many people find that text on dark backgrounds are difficult to read.  (We do not recommend using a dark background).

We design pages to fit on the average screen size of 14" to 15".  If pages are designed for larger screens, users with average size screens become annoyed continually scrolling back and forth to read a page.  They usually leave that page to find one easier to read.  However, a 14" to 15" page will still look great on a larger screen.

Many older computers have slow modems or 56K modems with servers that provide slow load times.  Using elaborate graphics, midi-players, etc., that take a long time to load will cause potential customers to become annoyed and leave for a faster site.   Keep this in mind when visiting other sites.  Ask yourself if you would wait for the site to come up?

We recommend a clean, fairly simple site design that is easy to navigate through.   We will enhance your site as much as possible to make any graphics, photos, etc., as fast loading as possible.    We approach each new website project with the desire to bring success to our client and pay particular attention to detail.  We truly enjoy designing web pages and are committed to our goal of integrity and excellence.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask us.  We are here to serve you, our client.

Web Site Registration

Your website design will include the title and meta tags needed on your web pages and an XML page generation that is requested by Google.  These tags are what the "spyder" engines look at to index your site.  The main engines need to have the information manually submitted to them along with directories.  These are all very important to the success of your website along with a good links base.  It will take possibly up to a couple months to achieve page ranking unless you are willing to pay the extra fees involved in paid inclusion with Yahoo, MSN and Google.  You can also purchase search words and increase your ranking quickly.  Depending upon the type of website that you have we will either recommend that you pay a company to register the site for you or we will do it for you.  We will be posting our rated for this service shortly.  We do use mass registering software for some of the registrations, however, we do most of them manually to achieve the best result.  If you have a specific business we will go in and find specific industry type engines and directories that will benefit your company and/or product.  These are all major search engines that do not require fees.  WE DO NOT submit to FFA's (Free For Alls) or chat groups.  When a submission site says they will submit you to 200+ search engines you will be submitted to the FFA's which is a generator of wasted hits on your webpage and hundreds if not thousands of junk emails into your mailbox.

Which of the many search engines really matter?  Google and Yahoo power the ten biggest search engines.  However, it does take a couple of months to achieve a ranking and perhaps even get listed with them unless you do paid inclusion which can get very expensive.  However, we will get you listed whichever way you choose and since different search engines are used in different areas of the country there are some great ones that we can you listed in immediately.  One that is upcoming is Dogpile, mainly because it is using the old method of listing and bringing up the page information.  The search is more precise and there are many engines out there like that and we will submit you to all of them.  There are also many directories that you have to be manually submitted to that help your site achieve rankings and are used to find a specific business or industry.
